Thanks for your nursing contribution to wikipedia. The Grace Neill page seems to be almost entirely from http://www.dnzb.govt.nz/dnzb/default.asp?Find_Quick.asp?PersonEssay=2N5 so I listed it on Wikipedia:Copyright problems#April 15. I look forward to working with you on nursing articles. Matt 12:26, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Some additional pointers
[edit]Since you seem to be creating a number of great nursing articles, here's some things you can do when you create them.
- If you put the text [[Category:Nursing]] at the bottom of an article then it adds the article to the nursing category so that people can find a list of all nursing related articles in one spot. (see [1]).
- If you create an article that's just one or two paragraphs then this is called a stub. You can place the text {{stub}} at the bottom of the page or, for nursing articles, {{nursing-stub}}. This sets up a nifty banner at the bottom of the page (cf. Nursing research).
Again, keep up the good work. Matt 12:55, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
disambig - Perth
[edit]Hi Ian I've been dismbigging Perth your User page is on the list I think you mean Perth, Western Australia. Would you be able to fix please. Thanks Gnangarra 13:48, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Think I know where you are coming from.. will try!
Live at the Deaf Club vs. Can You Hear Me? Music from the Deaf Club
[edit]- Ian, you're confusing the original vinyl compilation, Can You Hear Me?: Music from the Deaf Club, which had several different artists, with this album, which only has the DK's material. There are no errors in this particular album's article. When you find your old record, feel free to write about that album at the link above. --Cjmarsicano 12:37, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank You
[edit]Didn't realise there was another live album; fairly new to Wiki, so learning all the time. Will dig out the LP and do that page in the future.
category alphabetization
[edit]Hi Ianguy, I fixed the alphabetization on your category for nurse Wikipedians. Hope you don't mind. :o) Maltmomma (chat) 12:42, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
He was not a footballer, so, I removed him from Category:Footballers who died from motor neurone disease, next time, try reading the article, ok? Afonso Silva 12:08, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
He played football in his university amateur team, as a hobbie, he was never a professional. If he is a footballer for that, so am I. He was a musician, that's what the article clearly says. Afonso Silva 12:32, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the category thing, I forgot the ":" when I refered to the category, so, it was like including your page in it instead of making a link in the text. I've fixed it. And I apologize for any incovenience. Afonso Silva 13:20, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Did you have any luck here? Maybe try Neil Morrissey? He really is a kn0bhead. Are you on the mailing list? See www.hmhb.co.uk for details of how to join.
NursingWiki
[edit]Hi, my name is Joe (User Produnis) and I am the founder of NursingWiki. You asked me to contact you here... So, what's up? :-) ... As I am a german Wikipedian, who mainly works for the NursingWiki-project, I might read messages, posted there, sooner :)
Greetings
[edit]I guess you're wondering who I am and all that. I'm currently training to be a nurse in Australia, but I'm here for a different reason, really.
Currently, English NursingWiki has around 90 articles, in comparison to the German NursingWiki, which has well over 2000 articles. I was wondering if a group of technically minded nurses would mind commiting some information to it and helping it grow.
It's a little bit different from Wikipedia, in that it's designed for content that Wikipedia cannot have, such as steps for drawing up a nursing plan and the like, but I'm finding it a valuable resource already in my education, and I think it could become a very valuable resource very quickly if it had a group of nurses comitting their knowledge.
Tell your friends, and be bold!
User boxes
[edit]Just letting you know your User:NZ labor user box is messed up on your user page. Also, you've listed the male userbox twice. Small fries, but thought I'd let you know. - Dudesleeper 15:26, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- D'oh. Just seen your request for assistance with them. - Dudesleeper 15:30, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Nursing Portal & wikiproject
[edit]Hi Ian, You may or may not be aware that User:THB has crated a Nursing Portal and Nursing Wikiproject aiming to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Nursing. It would be great if all Wikipedian nurses got involved. — Rod talk 19:18, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Waikato FC
[edit]Hi. Good work, and I recommend that a reference with the official website's link that gave the updated squad be added to the article. And Schaeffers, I'm not quite sure, but I'm guessing not so well, as he only got one game. Thanks, Mattythewhite 21:02, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Adrenaline rush sports, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of David Livingstone Primary
[edit]A tag has been placed on David Livingstone Primary requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 10:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Ianguy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Anne Casey - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Alan Bryman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 04:59, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
The article Nursing practice has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Content is duplicative and too short for its own article. Exact content is in the main Nursing article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:03, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
