Belgian clubs
[edit]Hey Julien, just want to say excellent job on the Belgian clubs and all of Belgian football altogether! --Dryazan 19:34, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I notice you added the category "Irish painters" to this article. Thanks for your attention to Irish artists articles, this is the second you have categorized. I myself actually got rid of the Irish painter category a while ago on the grounds that (Irish artists - Irish painters) wasn't very many people, that situation has actually improved now and it might be worth subcategorizing Irish artists, if you want to help with this that would be cool.Notjim 13:37, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Empty articles
[edit]Please don't create articles which contain only categories, interwiki or external links, or navigational boxes, but no other actual text. An article should have at least some text to be a valid article, otherwise it is a candidate for speedy deletion (see Criteria: Articles #3). The reason why such articles are discouraged is that they make red links appear blue like links to valid articles, but the user will be disappointed to find no meaningful text there except the metadata. At least a stub of actual text is needed. andy 12:12, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Belgian beer
[edit]Please use Belgian beer not Belgian beers as the category - cat names should match article names, should not be plural, and should match all the other categories. Justinc 13:32, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Julien, I don't personally know of any free graphics converters, although I'm sure there are plenty out there for whatever OS you're using. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to convert the logos I posted. Dale Arnett 17:01, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
Trappist beer
[edit]Hello Julien I see you are doing a hard work at removing informations on trappist beer to replace them with other wrong informations. The article about trappist beer is often modified (that's wikipedia, of course) but you must check your sources, and not believe too quickly what you can hear here or there. I have made a contribution in the trappist beer wikipedia discussion list about the 7 (not 6) trappist beers, including La Trappe. I hope you won't delete it again before reading why it is wrong to say that there are 6 trappist beers, while in fact there are 7. Cyril
Stable polynomial
[edit]I removed the stub notice from stable polynomial. This notice is only used for articles with one or two paragraphs of text, but the stable polynomial article is too long to be called a stub. See Wikipedia:Stub for further guidance.
On another topic, I am wondering about your edits to Wilkinson's polynomial. Why is this important? Is it not the case that the zeros of any polynomial in Lagrange form are stable, if one interpolates at the zeros themselves? Do you have a reference where you got your information?
Finally, if you want to continue editing mathematics articles, you might be interested in the mathematics WikiProject, and perhaps even list yourself on the list of participants. Cheers, Jitse Niesen 00:38, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- About the Wilkinson's polynomial: it is true that zeros are better conditionned when any polynomial (with distinct roots!) is expressed in its Lagrange form. I added this fact here because it seemed appropriate for 2 reasons:
- this polynomial is usually defined by its lagrange form
- its zeros are very ill-conditionned in the power basis form
- But you might be right when saying it is not the best place to talk about the subject of conditionning of roots of polynomials (which doesn't seem to be treated anywhere...). Maybe we should create a new page on this topic (or a related topic).
- My information comes from my own end-of-study work so we should find another source to cite (but I don't know any).
- Thanks for your attention and corrections...Julien Tuerlinckx 13:04, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Yes, I agree that it is a nice fact to include in Wilkinson's polynomial. However, the language suggested to me that it is deeper and more important than that it appears to me to be; I cannot pinpoint my concerns exactly. I would be very happy if you could write something about the conditioning of roots of polynomials. It can either be added at the end of root-finding algorithm, or, if it becomes too big for that, we can create a new article like stability of roots of polynomials. -- Jitse Niesen 13:27, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
On second thought, the claim that the roots are well-conditioned when the polynomial is considered in Lagrange form is not so straightforward. I'd be interested to see the proof. -- Jitse Niesen 14:10, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
An anomymous user changed the examples on stable polynomial, claiming that they were incorrect. However, I could not see a mistake in them. I asked for clarification on the user's talk page, User talk:212.18.24.11, but I do not feel confident enough to revert the "correction" myself. Perhaps you could have a look? -- Jitse Niesen 13:02, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation. -- An embarassed Jitse Niesen 13:44, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hi, just noticed there was a page named Routh Hurwitz Stability Criterion. What should we do about that? Julien Tuerlinckx 12:21, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know that much control theory, so I have no idea what condition this refers to. Do you know what the Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion is? There are two possibilities: either you expand the article, in which case it should probably be moved to Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion, or you merge it into stable polynomial (see Wikipedia:Merge). You may also want to talk with User:Linuxlad and User:Wknight8111, which were apparently involved in the creation of the article. By the way, I haven't had time to study your proof yet. Jitse Niesen 13:10, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- hey, thanks for the message. the idea of merging the articals is an interesting one, but i would worry that we lose the ability to go in-depth on every subject. in addition, i have also written an artical on the Nyquist Criterion, and if we merge one artical, we might have to merge them all.
I think perhaps that we should not merge the articals, but instead link the articals together, and flesh them all out (the routh-hurwitz artical is sorely lacking). --Whiteknight 01:26, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
No strong feelings on this - thanks for keeping me informed. Bob aka Linuxlad

Root sensitivity
[edit]Let p be a polynomial of degree n. We are looking for the condition number of the map at the point u, where u is the vector of coefficients of the given polynomial p (in a certain polynomial basis q) and is the vector of roots of p. The condition number is known to be:
where D is the diagonal matrix with entries equal to and V_q is the generalized Vandermonde matrix (each column is a basis vector --- e.g. if q is the power basis --- evaluated at each root). You can consult for example Gautschi, Questions of numerical condition related to polynomials, or calcultate it by evaluating the Jacobian of f (which equals the matricial product in the formula above). Remark that D is a n times n matrix while the Vdmonde is a n times n+1.
If q is the power basis (say q=r), becomes the traditionnal Vandermonde matrix. If q is the Lagrange basis (say q=q), the generalized Vdmonde is the identity (and last column equals 0). We have:
since D is diagonal (at least for the infinity norm). Since we can choose arbitrary a point y distinct from each root of p as additionnal interpolation point, it is always possible to choose it such that:
For example, if we consider the infinity norm, the point y=0 is always a such point unless it is already a root of p. In this case, one can take a point y near zero. All in all:
Edit summary
[edit]Hi Julien. You are doing great work. But I have a favor to ask. Would you mind putting an edit summary? That is helpful when other people see your changes on their watchlist; it sort of works like the "Subject" line in an e-mail. That would be much appreciated. Thank you, Oleg Alexandrov 22:14, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Lebesgue constant
[edit]Some remarks prompted by your creation of Lebesgue's lemma and Lebesgue constant (interpolation):
- We avoid the creation of PNG images in running text, see Wikipedia:How to write a Wikipedia article on Mathematics.
- On the other hand, I (and many others) like to force displayed formulas (what you would write as $$...$$ in TeX) to be displayed as images, by adding \, to the formulas where necessary.
- We prefer singular nouns for titles, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions, so I moved Lebesgue constants (interpolation) to Lebesgue constant (interpolation).
- I don't understand this bit:
- "This is asymptotically optimal, because for any set of interpolation nodes we have the bound
- where a = 0.9625…."
- "This is asymptotically optimal, because for any set of interpolation nodes we have the bound
- As you say, the Lebesgue constants grow exponentially for equidistant nodes. How do I square that with the above statement that the constant grow logarithmically for any set of nodes?
Keep up the good work! Cheers, Jitse Niesen 01:21, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
PS: I hope you will soon know what to do with Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion and Routh-Hurwitz theorem. I guess they should be combined into one article, but I am not sure because neither article does a great job in explaining what it is about. Please keep in mind that most articles are read most of the time by non-specialists (see also Oleg's edit remarks). As you might already have guessed, I'm of the opinion that it's more important for Wikipedia at the moment to improve the articles we have, then to write many new articles. -- Jitse Niesen 01:43, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Don't worry about it. The changes are very minor and alter the readability of the articles only slightly. Is it you who has set up most of the articles on this subject, then? If so, this is some very good work you've been doing. It's surprising how badly Belgian football is covered over here in this country. Thank you. Bobo192|Edits

Routh-Hurwitz
[edit]you left me a message on my user page on June 18, and i replied on my talk page, although i doubt you will check it after all this time. I understand your idea about fusing the Routh-Hurwitz artical and the Polynomial Stability Artical, although i don't think that we should necessarily fuse the two. An artical on Polynomial Stability, if it were to encompass every stability requirement, every stability test, and all the techniques for testing stability would eventually become so large that it would need to be forked in sub articals anyway. If we included Routh-Hurwitz in the Polynomial Stability Artical, we would need to include Root-Locus analysis, Nyquist criteria, and various frequency-domain stability tests. I think that it would be better to keep these things separate.
On a side note, I am laying the ground-work for a comprehensive Electrical Engineering Curriculum (of sorts) at wikibooks (My Wikibooks Profile), and would like to include topics on Polynomial stability, Routh-Hurwitz, Root-Locus, Nyquist, etc in a book on "Stability Theory" or "Control Systems". We've only managed to start some basic books on simple circuits so far, but we would like to expand the bookshelf. If you are interested in helping with this project, swing by wikibooks, and see what you can help out with. --Whiteknight 20:05, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]Hi Julien!
Thanks for your kind words, I am now working on Seasons in Argentine football, you might be interested. :)
The only reason for me to revert your changes is that all the players now look kind of ugly without the info, and those kind of stats for the "current" year change so fast that is very difficult to keep up to date. I do like the "Honors" section, in which we can specify individual honors (Golden Boot, World Champion, UEFA Champions League Champion, etc...) because they don't require the same amount of effort to maintain current.
Can you imagine if you add 100 footballers that play every sunday and you need to update the "caps" and "goals" on each and every one of them every weekend? It is a little nightmarish. :)
Let's keep on working on the template, I think it will look great once we finish! :)

What is your source for the fact that is image is in the public domain? Thue | talk 13:50, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Thue, actually I have no sources for this. As you may have seen, I uploaded a photo of (nearly) each current Anderlecht player from the same site, all with the mention "public domain".
So maybe those pictures are not welcome on wikipedia cause I don't know the policy for adding images here. Some months earlier I requested the webmaster of RSCA website to let me add those pictures on wikipedia but he didn't reply to me. As says the motto: Cum tacent consentiunt. Cheers, Julien Tuerlinckx 15:39, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- You can most definently not assume images are public domain just because somebody fails to return an email! The images may be {{fairuse}}; I strongly suggest you go change the PD license of all the footballers to fairuse instead. Thue | talk 15:48, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, I did modify the licensing for all those pictures I was talking about (I've put fairuse in for each article), but don't you know a way to get a list of all the files I've uploaded? It would permit me to be sure I did not forget one or more pictures... Thanx, Julien Tuerlinckx 17:10, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Brussels Metro
[edit]Salut, Julien! I just discovered your excellent additions on various Brussels Metro stations. Kudos, or as you would say, chapeau. You have inspired me to make a few contributions of my own, including Sainte Catherine, Kraainem/Crainhem, and Delta stations so far. I have also taken the liberty of adjusting some of your technical language, which occasionally betrayed the fact that your native language is French, not English. For instance, you often used the phrase "the station is crossed by lines X and Y." Although "crossed" can often be translated traversé, it does not always follow quite the same usage. I have usually replaced it with "served" (desservi), which sounds less odd to a native English speaker. I hope you don't mind my recasting your English; je suis sûre que vous pourriez faire de même pour ma français :-) Vremya 02:37, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for being so gracious about my changing your language. This is not the first time I've noticed that les francophones semblent plus polis que les anglophones in this regard. Perhaps trop poli pour être au Nèthe ;-) as my great-great-grandfather, a Wallon émigré au Campine, might have said, although there is only hearsay evidence that he was an inveterate punster. And while we're on the subject anyway, to answer your personal question: Although I have lived in Chicago and Finland and am now living in Texas, I was born in Belgium and spent about 27 years of my life there. I went to school in Brussels for 6 years and I worked for a while at the military hospital in Neder-Over-Heembeek, which is where I learned most of my French, as I was the only Dutch speaker in my department. For a long time, my daily commute included a change at Kraainem station from a bus of De Lijn to the metro (hence my particular knowledge of that station). I was not familiar with the BSubWay website, but I appreciate your drawing my attention to it. A lot of my knowledge about the Brussels Metro I acquired as a subscriber to a periodical called Tram 2000; I don't know if it still exists or not. Also, one of my personal friends worked (and for all I know still works) at the STIB/MIVB traffic control center at Parc, and he often told me interesting stuff about the metro (like the fact that the curve just before Ste. Catherine is the sharpest on the system). Which brings me to your remaining question about Saint Catherine metro station, as the article is currently called. Although I agree that it might be a good idea to move the page, I do not think that an English style change is the best solution. The metro stations of Brussels have official names in French and Dutch, so it seems most reasonable to use these names whenever possible (as has been done already for Crainhem/Kraainem metro station, for instance). In other words, If you want to move the page, it seems most logical to me to rename it "Sainte Catherine/Sint Katelijne metro station" in accord with the names that the station carries in the real world. Incidentally, while we're talking about renaming anyway, it has occurred to me that at the moment there seems to be another kind of inconsistency in some of the Brussels Metro station names: Whereas the names of the articles for Parc metro station and Beekkant metro station (not yet created, but listed thus in the templates), for example, include the word "metro," the pages for De Brouckère station and Montgomery station (and the Delta station article that I created from the template link) do not include the word "metro." Except for a small number of special cases (such as Schuman station, which describes both the SNCB/NMBS and STIB/MIVB stations), I think it would be better to standardize on the "metro station" style (for example, moving "De Brouckère station" to "De Brouckère metro station"). What's your opinion? Vremya 09:13, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for elaborating on the reasoning behind your choices. On the bilingual issue, I decided to explain my opinions in a wider forum, so other people could comment on it as well. In a nutshell, my personal take is that the bilingual naming of stations is the only truly neutral policy and therefore the policy best suited for Wikipedia. With regard to your technical concern about slashes, the obvious solution is to use a different type of separator, such as an em dash (e.g., "Sainte Catherine/Sint Katelijne" would become "Sainte Catherine — Sint Katelijne").
Finally, pertaining to the "metro station" issue, although I can sort of understand the reasoning behind the distinction of underground "metro stations" versus above-ground "stations," the distinction strikes me as rather artificial and difficult to implement. For example, although certain Brussels Metro stations such as Pétillon are flanked by open stretches of surface track, the stations themselves are invariably covered structures that are at least somewhat protected from the elements. This is arguably true even for stations like Demey and Erasme/Erasmus that were built specifically to give an open and airy feel (unlike, say, Villette station in Charleroi, which provides very little protection against the weather). Conversely, there is at least one station (Alma) that is arguably a surface station although it is flanked on both sides by tunnel sections. Thus I don't think the distinction is particularly helpful. As a matter of fact, on closer reflection, the thing that bothered me most about the omission of "metro" turns out to be a completely different issue: that of ambiguity. I can think of at least one real-world example where the term would be ambiguous either way: "Diamant metro station" is not only a place in Brussels; there is also a (pre)metro station of the same name in Antwerp. Thus it occurs to me that maybe a better convention would be to append a specific "Brussels Metro" tag to every station name: for example, "Delta station (Brussels Metro)." This practice has been used for disambiguation elsewhere, and it has the advantage of being both totally unambiguous and easy to implement (it might require some more work to begin with, but it would only need to be done once). What's your take? Vremya 00:08, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying your reasoning for using "metro station" versus "premetro station"; I had indeed failed to understand your rationale in that way. My only concern is that such a designation would be at least theoretically unstable, because the very concept of premetro implies that there is at least a hypothetical prospect that these stations might someday be converted to full metro service. For instance, before 1988, the correct designation for "Madou metro station" would have been "Madou premetro station"; after that date, the reverse would be the case. Similarly, it is quite conceivable that at some date in the future (perhaps after extension towards Schaerbeek and Haren on the one hand and towards Uccle and Stalle on the other), the North-South Axis might be converted to full metro, in which case all the stations on this axis would have to be redesignated "metro" instead of "premetro." Note that this possibility might not be as farfetched as it sounds, in view of the ever increasing weight given to line 3 on the North-South Axis (you may recall a similar phenomenon with the old tram line 2 before the conversion of the Inner Ring to full metro). Then again, I concede that such a change would only have to be made once, so it may be no big deal.
With regard to using a different separator than the slash for double-named stations, I'm glad we seem to be in agreement here. I would make the change myself right now, except I'm not sure if, now that the question has been fielded in a broader context, it would be good etiquette to wait for further input from others who may wish to comment (and if so, how long would we have to wait before assuming consensus if no one else responds?) All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Greetings From Mercury. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Is it possible to be even more precise regarding the Lagrange polynomial? Is it for instance true that a change in coefficients is now referring to coefficients expressed in a different basis?
And are there root-finding methods for which expressing in a Lagrange basis is indeed relevant? Bob.v.R 18:02, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Belgian football Bribing/Gambling scandal 2006
[edit]I couldn't seem to find anything on the english wiki about this, and with the italian scandal recently popping up it could be interesting to explain this also. I've tried to translate from the dutch wiki, but I'm not too hapy with the result so far, feel free to have a look at User:Pelotas/todo and continue from where I left off. --Pelotastalk 22:03, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Vlaams Blok trial
[edit]Hi, you have been editing the Vlaams Belang and Vlaams Blok articles in the past. Could I ask you a question ?
I was thinking of starting an article on the Vlaams Blok trial, to explore the trial a little more indepth, and to which could be linked from the Vlaams Belang and Vlaams Blok pages. What would you think about that ?
I'm afraid I would just be creating another battle-ground. On the other hand, the information on the trial in the present articles is rather limited.--LucVerhelst 17:06, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply.--LucVerhelst 21:47, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Belgium
[edit]Bonjour,

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Brasserie à vapeur, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Brasserie à vapeur. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Image:Anthony vandenborre.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Anthony vandenborre.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk 23:51, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mbo mpenza.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Mbo mpenza.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Quentin X 12:30, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Christian wilhelmsson.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Christian wilhelmsson.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Infobox football bio
[edit]Hi, I was making some player bios and noticed that the 'nickname' was not showing up in the infobox. When I checked the template for it I realized that there is no nickname section?! I don't know how that got in there nor do I remember where I found this incorrect version. For example see Luigi Allemandi. Libro0 (talk) 21:49, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Disregard above. I just read the discussion on the template and saw that 'nickname' had been removed after consensus. Libro0 (talk) 21:58, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kv turnhout.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Kv turnhout.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:10, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Julien Tuerlinckx! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- David Linx - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Roger Vanden Stock - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Butcher!
[edit]Your edit may have made you an accomplice to an act of vandalism:
At the reference you named 'VlaamsBlock' (with 'ck' - funny, as 'the Blok' did indeed become blocked by the referenced court verdict), you added a retrieval date of 26 January 2006. If you actually checked that link then, though the Wayback Machine does not go back far enough for his site I strongly suspect you would have seen Jack O'Shea being a butcher and his site a blog. The mentioned 'Expatriate Online' is at 'expatriate-online.com' which at the time did mention the butcher as an affiliate site.
The server's pathname is not recognized by the Wayback Machine for either site, hence I could not repair the reference. http://expatriate.online.com/ on 26 August 2005 showed on its linked list of newsitems "Our Belgian news section is presented in co-operation with flandersnews.be, the English Online News Service of the Flemish Public Broadcaster VRT." From that site as well as from vrtnieuws.net, the Wayback apparently fails to produce the relevant article. I eliminated the useless reference and replaced it with verifiable ones.
Please do not add retrieval dates without verifying that a linked source actually confirms the referenced text in an article, that it is not some blog (which also rarely becomes available on web.archive.org), and that the named source corresponds to the url and its content.
The real joker and vandal (with respect to his other edits and forementioned affiliation, perhaps accidentally), was User:147.231.28.83 who already on 22 August 2005 had rendered undue weight to the butcher's meat. Shame on all the editors who in four years worked vigourously at the Vlaams Belang article apparently without ever attempting to read its sources.

The article Jazz Middelheim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unsourced since 2005, non-notable jazz festival only mentioned in passing in guidebooks and other incidental sources.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Octurn
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Octurn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Diannaa (talk) 20:45, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
