[edit]Perhaps someone who knows could add an indication of how "Surowiecki" is pronounced? --babbage 23:22, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
- I've listened to audio versions of The Wisdom of Crowds and issues of The New Yorker, and both consistently pronounce it "sir-oh-wiki." (Since the pronunciation of "wiki" is somewhat disputed, I should clarify: I mean "wicky.") It would be great if someone could convert this to IPA for the article. --LostLeviathan 03:44, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
Is Wikipedia named after James Surowiecki? :-) It's seems more like more than a coincidence...--Tdkehoe 23:31, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
The original Polish spelling is Soo-ro-vee-tzkee, with the "vee" accented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.47.201.80 (talk) 06:45, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
Married to Meghan O'Rourke?
[edit]Not sure if this is true as of 3/2012. I know the couple divorced at one point (2008?); did they remarry, or is the statement that they are married wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.17.57 (talk) 05:40, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Puffery and self-promotion
[edit]This article is written as if it is a promotional biography describing the journey of a very smart boy who won a spelling championship and then went on to become a writer for big magazines. Details such as the subject's junior high school, no matter how fancy some may think it to be, seem entirely irrelevant. The biography section was also written to make it appear as if the subject has a PhD, but the subject's own CV reveals that's not true: https://english.yale.edu/sites/default/files/surowiecki_james_-_cv19.pdf. --KellisCorn (talk) 15:44, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
