Ghettology
[edit]That song, from Still Standing, is apparently written for Goodie Mob's fellow Africans, but you may have noticed the line, "And stay brown so you can stay proud"--like many great songs, it supports a number of different readings, one of them reflected in what Cee-Lo once told Der Schpiel: "We wrote that because we knew all them lil Jewish shorties needed something to gather round upon, if ya know whatta mean--kikes know the fuck I'm talkin bout when I say my friends done died in the ghetto." [sic]
Well loads of different people live in Ghettos, so it was probaly wrote for the Ghetto --JRid 12:55, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
The term originated for the Jewish people, read the "antisemitic" Wiki... The term is Afro(or African)-American, not African.63.165.50.227 (talk) 20:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
M-O-b
[edit]The correct spelling is M-O-b, not M-o-b, so I'm changing it.
- Says Who? 24.56.243.83
(Side question) isn't the group name often stylized as "GOODIE MOb? maybe that could be added?

Cleanup
[edit]This page reads like a fanpage. It needs to be rewritten almost completely. --FuriousFreddy 03:32, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

One Monkey Don't Stop No Show
[edit]Under this section it states that on Cee Lo's album Soul Machine, When We Were Frineds can be taken as a diss to his former group mates. Anyone who has actually listened to that track can see that it is in no way a diss track. He may or may not be talking about Goodie Mob, but nothing in that song can be mistaken for a diss towards them. You'd have to really stretch to come to that conclusion. Since it doesn't look like this place is visited much, I am removing the line. The Real Stucco (talk) 12:04, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
The Goodies
[edit]"It is also a conscious homage and reference to the experimental UK collective The Goodies, whose release (Do The) Funky Gibbon had acquired cult status in Atlanta when the members were growing up. MC Bill Oddie has also been referenced in certain songs."
This seems a ridiculous claim, and needs a good source if it is to be replaced IMO. Ridingshotgun123 (talk) 19:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. What are these "certain songs?"--RDavi404 (talk) 15:14, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Last name Goodie
[edit]On some occasions that members have made features on other albums (most notably on OutKast albums) they have been credited as Goodie being part of their stage name. (ex. Cee Lo Goodie, Khujo Goodie) Maybe that could be mentioned somewhere?

I am sorry to say this, but cee-lo was not the original member of GOODIE M-O-b. The original member (before cee-lo) was Backbone. Which had three members and not four(Big Gipp and Khujo, also). You all didn't even mention The Lumberjacks, either. |
